The Kitchen Design Trend That Will Change Your Life: Lower Kitchen Drawers

You are here: Home / Kitchen & Bath Remodel / The Kitchen Design Trend That Will Change Your Life: Lower Kitchen Drawers
December 16, 2022 by admin

If you are – like me – a homeowner who is getting a little older each day, you need to know about lower kitchen drawers. This design choice is so smart and so stylish, it’s not surprising to see it already cropping up on top kitchen design trends reports.

What’s involved: replacing lower kitchen cabinets with kitchen drawers. In the same amount of space, drawers provide more usable storage. They also make it easy to see what’s stored in a space, without having to bend, stoop, or search with a flashlight. If you have a bad back or other physical difficulties around bending and getting down close to the floor, you know how much you avoid doing those motions. Me personally – if I have to potentially throw out my back stooping to get a pan to cook a particular recipe, I cook something else instead! But with kitchen drawers, there’s no more stooping.

What’s also nice about lower kitchen drawers is they’re easier to keep clean. Cupboards are dark inside, so when you’re wiping out any dust or food debris to keep things tidy, it’s hard to see what you miss. Drawers pull out so all of the kitchen’s light can be used to illuminate the contents. Keeping lower kitchen drawers clean is much easier than keeping lower kitchen counters clean. When making kitchen design choices, it’s a good idea to factor in how easy it is to keep things clean, both now and when you get a little older.

The front of the lower kitchen drawers are designed to enhance and elevate the rest of the cabinetry. Many homeowners opt for lower kitchen drawers with a sleek, unobtrusive style – but if you enjoy beautiful kitchen hardware and bling, drawer pulls are a great way to indulge yourself.

We’re currently scheduling our late 2024 builds, so if that makes sense for your timeline, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
